The Interim "ONE EMI BOX" Silver & Black Label
Around autumn 1969, and for the first time since 1963, Parlophone radically changed their label design from the traditional Black & Yellow to the silver style with ONE EMI boxed logo at the bottom of the label, and the rimtext arching around the top of the label rather than underneath. The ONE EMI Box logo would shortly be replaced by a TWO EMI box so was only used for a short period. This new label collectors refer to as the 'Silver and Black' design.

The Very Rare Mono Releases on the ONE EMI BOX Label
It was thought many years ago that Parlophone had closed their mono back catalogue before the label design changed and as such no mono copies existed on this label, but over the years it's transpired that three albums from the Beatles' back catalogue had their mono runs extended slightly overlapping the transition. These three albums were "Please Please Me", "Help!" and "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" (although a number of Pepper mono presses are in fact mispresses, with mono labels on stereo discs). These mono presses are incredibly rare and very difficult to get hold of (in particular the "Help!" version).
The label style as a whole isn't too easy to find since it was only available for a relatively short time when other more popular Beatles albums were available. From this point on Parlophone closed its mono back catalogue until 1982 when the first four albums came back onto the market in mono in favour of the unpopular stereo mixes. Because of this only the stereo presses were available to buy throughout the 1970s.
This album was issued as part of a VERY SMALL BATCH IN MONO with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, encircled ‘P’ date 1967, and ‘Made in Gt Britain’ together with the ONE EMI Box to the bottom of the label. Please note that the Vinyl weight is the same HEAVY QUALITY to that of the earlier 1967 release. In addition, the machine stamped matrix numbers are the same as for the original 1967 version.
Both record labels are in IMMACULATE NEAR MINT condition showing nothing more than a few light centre spider trails.

Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in STUNNING NEAR MINT condition – GLISTENING Vinyl surfaces – with only a couple of light surface hairlines.
Side 1 Matrix is: XEX 637-1 and side 2: XEX 638-1. Side 1 stampers: 2 MPG and Side 2: 3/MOL. The album plays perfectly through ALL the tracks. Superb sound quality with NO faults, just perfect.

The Vinyl LP comes in a white Made in Gt Britain record bag which is in UNDAMAGED excellent condition, NO seam splits or tearing, just some light creasing. The SGT Pepper unused cardboard cut-out is in MINT condition.

Alaos included is an original Apple Poster, advertising other Apple Albums which is in MINT condition, showing one horizontal fold. Not all the LP's came with the advertising Posters as they were not factory inserted. Batches had been given to the record shops for staff to insert freehand into the sleeve so there were often occasions when this instruction was missed, or posters ran out.

All are housed in the ORIGINAL, LAMINATED, GARROD and LOFTHOUSE gatefold Picture Sleeve with TWO internal flip backs, with the same artwork and style as the original 1967 release.

The Original Garrod & Lofthouse Laminated Gatefold Sleeve is in IMPRESSIVE EXCELLENT PLUS condition, a BRIGHT, FIRM, CLEAN sleeve, showing only mild record indentation, and a small laminate crease noticeable on the reverse bottom left corner

The reverse of the sleeve is undamaged, and the inner gatefold of the sleeve is also undamaged, with just a little rubbing to the two flip backs, the spine is perfect and all the wording is clearly readable.
