Very Rare 1968 "Dozen Beatles Songs" Framed Yellow Submarine Movie Poster
There are two slightly different versions of this poster. This is the original version which has a green apple in which "A Dozen Beatle Songs" is written. But somewhere between the UK movie premiere in July 1968 and the U.S release on 13 November, the powers-that-be decided to eliminate one song: "Hey Bulldog!" This cut was likely done very close to the U.S. release, since a minority of the U.S. posters advertise 12 songs. The majority of the 1 sheets were printed with the green apple image moved to the left side of the poster and the words "Eleven Beatle Songs" were substituted.

The "Eleven Song" version Very rare "Dozen Songs" version

The item was obtained in 2003 by More Than Music from the friend and proprietor of a well known London West End record shop (now closed) who used to make regular trips to the USA in order to source unusual and rare material. He obtained this original framed poster from a shop in California where he was informed that it once hung in the lobby of a local movie theater at the time of the films' original release in the USA in 1968.
This provenence is backed by a sticker on the rear of the poster frame by the professional framers "Frame 'n Rail" who are still in existance today. A quick glance at ther website homepage www.framenrail.com will reveal that they "Provide service for clients like: Warner Studios Hollywood, Universal Studios Hollywood and Warner Studios Burbank".
Please be aware that this poster will have been trimmed at the time in order to fit the frame.
The item was aquired by More Than Music for the purpose of decorating a large wall in the office and doubling as a long term investment.
